Installing WordPress

Installing WordPress is an easy and fast task taking only a few minutes.

WordPress is a Content Management System (CMS) which allows you to manage and control the content on your website without any technical knowledge. There are of course other content management systems out there, but WordPress is by far the most used.

Step 1 – Log into cPanel

So let’s get started, assuming you have your hosting set up, log into your web hosting cPanel and look for WordPress Tools

Step 2 – WordPress Installer

Here you will click on WordPress Installer which will take you to the next page.

Click on Install Now and you will be taken to the setup page

Step 3 – Quick Install

Click on quick install which will bring you to the next part of the setup page.

Choose your domain name (which if you have only one will show up automatically)

Leave In Directory blank.

Under Admin Account choose an admin name but, for safety, it is best to steer clear of the word admin.

Choose an admin password and keep it in a safe place so you remember it. You will need both the admin name and admin password to log into your WordPress website.

Fill in your admin email which should be your usual email address.

Check the box next to Classic Editor.

Then at the bottom press INSTALL.

Once installation of the software is complete you will see the following page

Congratulations, you now have your first website installed on WordPress.  To log into your website go to and on the login page enter your admin username and password.

Next we will take a look at WordPress Themes.
